Webinar: ICU Management of the COVID-19 Patient: From New York

An informative and insightful webinar by frontline physicians fighting with COVID-19. It is quite nice to see my then senior fellow (Dr. Pierre Kory) and my then-junior fellow (Dr. Joseph Matthew) giving fantastic presentations here. This is particularly good as they have discussed topics I am really interested in, like steroids and anticoagulation for patients with COVID-19.

You can access the recording directly from here, (though you need to register first)

You can also download PDF regarding (1) Management of COVID-19: Anticoagulation IL-6 inhibitors (2) Corticosteroids for ARDS due to COVID-19.

By the way, here is the article Dr. Kory called"Landmark article" when we discuss steroid use for COVID cases, and of note, authored by one of the presenters of this webinar, Dr. Steven Pastores. You can download it as well.

Webinar: Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) in COVID-19

I have been working on Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) for more than a decade, and I have been the director of the simulation and point-of-care ultrasound training at my institution. Thus it is quite natural for me to be interested in the application of POCUS to the patients with COVID-19.

My friend, Dr. Nilam J. Soni at UT Health San Antonio, as we co-direct Point-of-Care Ultrasound courses in Japan, recently posted a webinar on Point-of-Care Ultrasound in COVID-19. It is quite helpful not only for POCUS in COVID-19 but also for an excellent introduction to lung ultrasound in general. In the middle, he has Q and A with Dr. Mangala Narasimhan, which is also worth listening to. Lots of pearls on handling COVID-19.
